Tips for planning a church wedding ceremony

  • See what they have to offer- A church will have its own set of guidelines for a wedding ceremony, such as who can officiate or if flash photography is allowed. You also want to make sure you can get married in a church even if both you and the groom aren’t active members. It’s important to meet with the church coordinator and have them answer any questions you have for them. This way you can continue the planning as smoothly as possible to be one step closer to your wedding day!
  • Be Flexible- Once you and your fiancé have found the perfect church for your wedding, come up with a few dates which would work for your big day. There could be conflicting events taking place at the church on your preferred day, so it’s best to be prepared to overcome any obstacles. Coming up with a few options for the wedding date will help save a date so you can move on in the planning process.
  • Consider the Décor- Remember, since your wedding will be inside a church, you don’t have to go over the top with your ceremony décor. You’ll already have an amazing backdrop for your wedding, you just have to add your own personal touch to it! Think about what would look best to enhance the church’s own décor for your big day. By doing this, you’ll make your ceremony your own while still keeping the magnificent qualities of the church.
